About Us: Our Humble Beginnings to Now

Birth of a Legacy

The vision for Town Square Jewelers began in 1964, when Walter Rodriguez opened a small jewelry store in Uruguay, South America. Three years later, Walter brought his unique vision for jewelry design to New York City, where he crafted masterpieces for jewelry magnates like Cartier and Tiffany’s and for some of the most famous people in the world, including Elizabeth Taylor, former Prime Minister of Israel, Menachem Begin, and England’s Queen Elizabeth.

Transition to Georgia

In 1993, Walter and his wife, Maria Rosa, left New York City’s fast-paced Diamond District for the smooth Southern tempo of Fayette County to be nearer to their son, Alex, who worked for Delta. Soon after moving, the Rodriguez family found a vacant store-front in downtown Fayetteville and set-up shop for what would become the family’s legacy. The following year, a few weeks before Christmas, Town Square Jewelers sold its first ring.

What We’re Doing Now

In 2004, after a battle with cancer, Walter passed away. Since then, with his father’s vision in-mind, Alex and his wife, Paula, have transformed Town Square Jewelers into a jewel on the Fayetteville square by bringing-in key designer brands like Pandora, Swarovski, and Alex and Ani, not to mention other fine jewelry and bridal brands such as Le Vian, Art Carved, Gabriel, and Caro 74. In addition, Town Square Jewelers offers one-of-a-kind custom jewelry design and a full repair shop with the latest technology—not to mention our latest claim to fame, the “Other” Diamond. We are truly the consumer’s one-stop-shop for anything jewelry related.

Town Square Jewelers, on the square in Fayetteville: don’t just be remembered, be unforgettable.

Since then, RJO has grown to include hundreds of members and vendors, essential support programs, premier industry events and marketing services, while remaining owned by its jeweler members.

Custom Design Work

Here at Town Square Jewelers we strive for excellence in every piece we create. You can either  bring in pieces you no longer wear or we can create pieces from scratch. We take pride in creating all of our custom work in house. Creating your dream jewelry typically takes three stages.

First off, is the CAD Design. CAD (Computer Aided Design), is when we draw up the design you like and we create it with our CAD program.CAD pricing is determined by the amount of time it takes the jeweler to design the piece in addition to the technology involved in creating it.

The time it takes to create a specific CAD will need to be determined by the piece of jewelry. Before we are able to create the CAD design, you must leave a deposit for the CAD fee. This fee will go towards the total cost of your piece. Once we create your design, the next step is to make a model of it.

3D Jewelry Design

We create a 3D resin replica of the design for you to preview. Please allow at least one week to create the CAD and the first resin replica.

If you are not satisfied with the resin preview, we will allow one modification session free of charge (this free service only includes minor modifications;comprehensive design changes will be considered a new CAD). Each design change session will approximately take 3 days to 1 week to complete.

Each modification session will incur a non-refundable $75 charge for the time and the new resin 3D print. Finally, after approving the 3D resin replica, the cost of the entire piece will need to be paid before going into production. Once the piece goes into production, it is non-refundable.

Time for creating jewelry takes at least one month, and depends on the modifications and complexity of the piece.
